Mike Eller is a lifelong resident of Ypsi's 3rd Ward.

Growing up on Maple Street as a kid, Prospect Park became the home for neighborhood baseball games all summer and ice skating rinks in the winter.

While attending college at EMU, Mike provided cleaning services

for several customers throughout Southeast Michigan.  He graduated from EMU in 1990 with a Bachelor's Degree in Trombone Music Performance and played hockey for EMU as well.

Following graduation, Mike chose to build the cleaning business

that carried him through college.  He spear-headed the growth of Populist Cleaning Co. (http://www.populistcleaning.com/), and SFS Services (http://www.sfs-blindcleaning.com/) from a small family operation, to a staff of approximately 50 employees located in downtown Ypsi.  His business services customers throughout Washtenaw and Wayne Counties, continually producing jobs in a very tough economy.

Mike is an active real estate investor in downtown Ypsilanti and throughout the city.

As an Ypsilanti business owner and investor, Mike faces daily decisions that have both immediate and long term effects on " the bottom line".  This is the kind of experience and new-blood leadership that is needed on Ypsilanti's City Council.

"My roots are here in Ypsi.   My wife, Rebecca, and

I remain committed to the city as we do business,

support other Ypsi businesses, and raise our four

boys here in the City of Ypsilanti."  - Mike Eller

Community Involvement

While at EMU, Mike fought actively to keep the EMU Huron name & logo.

He served as captain of the EMU Hockey Club and as President of the student affiliated organization.  Mike went on to coach the team for several years after college.

While President of the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, Mike led the organization to new highs in attendance,

fund-raising, and community awareness by organizing and collaborating with a tremendous group of talented, yet politically very diverse, board members.

Mike is a member of the Ypsilanti Food Coop.

He was a member of Ypsilanti Chamber's Public Policy Sub-Committee.

Mike was Chairman of the Central Business Community (CBC), a sub-committee of the Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce.  The CBC was responsible for numerous annual events to promote business and activity in downtown Ypsilanti.  He is still a current member of the Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce.

Mike served as Chairman for the National Finance Committee of the America First Party and is current Chairman of the America First Party of Michigan.
